Clovis Trip

We drove to Clovis Friday morning...early! Macy, Joey & Kassidy made a cake with Grandma Dodie. Apparently when Grandma called on Macy's birthday, Macy asked if she would make her a cake, so she did. The kids had lots of fun mixing the ingredients and decorating the cake later that night. On Saturday Garrett, Krista, Reagan, Kassidy and Granny came over and we had Drunken Chickens. The weather was wonderful and the kids played outside all day. Joey was thrilled! He seemed to be enraptured with his cousins. Oh, and I shouldn't forget...Joey very much liked the doggy door. I don't think he ever used the actual door once he discovered that he could fit through the doggy door!

Macy had her first sleepover on Saturday night. Garrett and Krista set up the tent in their playroom and Reagan, Kassidy & Macy had a great time! I was a little worried that she wouldn't want to sleep over without me there, but she did just fine.

On Sunday we all went out to Garrett and Krista's. The boys made strudels while we watched the race (NASCAR, of course!). Once Gordon was out and in the garage, Donald, Garrett and Wendell went out and shot clay pigeons for a while. Guess they are out of practice...they came back in with bruises on their arms!

Donald brought his plane and the boys went out in the field and flew around for a little while. Donald let Garrett fly, but he was a little nervous about losing control so D took over and zoomed around for a while. It got quite exciting when he flew through TWO SETS of power lines (pretty sure that it wasn't on purpose - he's not that crazy!)

Joey discovered a Power Wheels John Deer Tractor in the barn and started driving it all over the property! I was amazed because he doesn't voluntarily drive the Jeep at home, but he was cruising all around at Garrett's! It used to be Kassidy's tractor, but she outgrew it long ago, so Garrett & Krista let Joey have it. He LOVES IT and can't wait to drive it to the park this week!
