Dentist appointment!

Macy and Joey had their 6-month check-up today. Both passed with flying colors. Joey HATES going to the dentist (takes after his daddy). He still has to lay in my lap while the dentist does her thing. From Macy's first appointment at 18 months old, she has always sat in the chair by herself and does exactly what Dr. Hishaw tells her to do.

Macy still has a significant crossbite and because she is such a good patient, Dr. Hishaw has referred her to the Orthodontist for a consultation. Usually we would wait until Macy is 6 or 8 and then try to correct the problem, but if we start fixing it before the bones fuse it is a faster process and less "stress" on the child. Dr. Raksanaves will evaluate Macy to decide if it is a skeletal issue or, hopefully, just a dental problem (where the top teeth just came in at the wrong angle).
