Macy found a couple of caterpillars on the back patio today and wanted to keep them. I let her bring one inside, but finally convinced her that it needed to be set free. We drove out to the cotton fields and found a good spot for it. Macy named it Buster and sang a song to him before she let him go. She assured him that he would be happier with his family, who must be missing him!
Macy was happy that Buster was reunited with his family (even though we didn't see any other caterpillars). She said that he is so excited to find his family and tell them that he has a name! "Everyone should have a name", she said.I am hoping that we don't find too many caterpillars on our camping trip. However, she has already picked out the names of the next 3 caterpillars that she finds: Strawberry, Buster Two, and Sylvia.
