Coloring INSIDE the lines?

Macy LOVES school! Her teachers say she is doing great and they are impressed, since she is the youngest in her class. However, when I see her projects from the day I become a little concerned! The picture to the right is from today's listening activity. Miss Cathy said that if I look UNDER her random coloring you can see that she did in fact follow the directions. When the listening exercise was over, Macy quickly reached for the crayons and frantically scribbled all over the paper! She also does this when she colors at home and Joey tries to color with her - she doesn't like sharing her crayons!

Macy colored this color-by-numbers after lunch today. She knew to look at the top and see which color corresponds with what number and she did a very good job of coloring inside the lines (until she had to use the brown to color the ground - that's a lot of coloring!)

At least I know that she CAN color inside the lines - she would just rather scribble all over the paper and make it colorful!
