Camping Day 1 - Jones Water Campground

We planned on leaving around 3:00pm on Thursday and driving all the way to Big Lake. However, Donald got home a little later than expected and then we had some wiring issues with the trailer. It was 6:00 by the time we got to Globe and it's another 3 hours (at least) to Big Lake. So we pulled into the first campground we found. Jones Water is only 15 miles north of Globe, and even though it LOOKED like cool weather from the air conditioned Yukon, it was actually quite warm and muggy.

A Weiner dog ("Weiny" shouted Joey - from Oswald) met us on the road into the camp area. We figured there must be other campers around, but found no one. D parked the trailer under a tree (infested with tiny biting ants). Once we got everything settled we hopped in the trailer to get away from the bugs.
However, it was so hot that we had to have the windows open that the gnats were small enough to crawl through the screen! It is only a tent trailer, so there are some areas between the canvas and the frame where bigger bugs can get in - ugh! D, Macy & Joey immediately stripped down to
their undies because it was just so hot. I had a weird vibe about the place - possibly because of the wandering dog
that was waiting for his master. I slept with everything including my GLASSES on!

Dawn finally arrived and we quickly packed up and headed to Big Lake. Since it was Friday of Labor Day Weekend, we wanted to get there as early as possible to get a good camp site. The kids had Oreos for breakfast - and couldn't be happier!
